Features And Mechanism:
The indexing plate has 36 holes at 10″ intervals, so permitting the dividing into 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 18 or 36 parts.
Method Of Using Vernier Holes Example:
Index 32o
First place in 0o position of front plate and 0 hole of vernier.
Next ease pin from hole in the front plate and rotate spindle handle until pin can be inserted into the 30o hole.
Next gently ease the pin out of the 0 vernier hole and move handle slightly so that it can be inserted into the 2
hole. The spindle has now been set at 32o.
If you find indexing work to be tedious, this 5C Spin Indexer will simplify your work. It allows you to index even faster than a dividing head outfitted with a worm gear.
Using a 5C collet you can quickly secure any workpiece to this spin fixture. Then, use the indexing plate to divide your workpiece into 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 or 18 parts. It has 36 holes at 10 degree intervals, but you can also achieve divisions of a single degree using the vernier hole system.
You may also use this 5C sollet spin indexer as a rotary unit by removing the disengage pin. Add a grinder and you have a indexing milling fixture or sin grinding fixture.
